Gabe’s Vocabulary

Someday, when we get up the energy (ha!), we’ll write up a report of our two week trip to Idaho and Utah. It was a great visit with lots of family and friends. You can see photos here.

But I just wanted to post something quickly, about Gabe. He’s 15 months old now, and he’s been talking up a storm the last few days. He’s always been pretty “verbal”, making all kinds of little noises and sounds, just to be part of the conversation. But in the last little while, we’ve decided he’s very clearly saying a few words, and using them in the correct context (not just making the sounds).

He says “mama”, “dada”, and “uh-oh”. He says “no”, and he kind of says “up”, “down”, and “Emma”. I think that’s it. Oh, and he’s been obsessed with his shoes lately. He’ll go get them and walk around with them, like he’s waiting for you to put them on his feet, and let’s go somewhere already! He doesn’t really say “shoes”, but he makes a little “shhhz” sound like he’s trying, so that will happen any day now.

Emma is still the consummate big sister - she plays too rough with him, and just loves him to death. When they play it almost always ends up in Gabe being knocked over and crying, because Emma’s just so dang enthusiastic. The tables will turn soon, I’m sure. And then it will be Gabe beating up on Emma. Oh, the joys…

    Cute!
I saw those pictures and they are darling! I laughed when I saw the one of Gabe under the car, haha! I want to frame the ones of Ryver the ‘vampire’! Makes me want a better camera. Well, I guess mine is good really, it just has a stupid delay that makes it so I can’t catch the shots I really want to. grrrrr….
